I know we are not doing stuff like this. but, it makes things harder when we are trying to get RB’S in our houses…. This is on craigslist…
HERES THE DEAL, THEY POST THAT YOU CAN RENT TO OWN WITH 4K OR LESS DOWN, THEY DON’T CARE ABOUT CREDIT BECAUSE THEY KNOW THEY ARE SELLING YOU A DREAM THAT IS NOT REALISTIC, THEN YOU SIGN, THEY TAKE YOUR NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT AND YOU LOOSE MONEY. THE REAL OWNER OF THE HOME DOES NOT EVEN GET THE DEPOSIT.
ONLY 30 PERCENT OR LESS GO TO CLOSING. THESE MONEY MONGERS SEEK OUT PEOPLE WHO ARE RENTING OUT HOUSES AND SIGN A LEASE WITH THEM, THEY DON’T ACTUALLY OWN ANY PROPERTY YOU ARE RENTING.
DON’T SIGN WITH THESE PEOPLE, THEY MAKE A LIVING OFF YOUR DEPOSITS, THEY ARE NOT ETHICAL OR MORAL.

We do not take non refundable deposits, so we know it is not NARS. These are probably Lease/Option/Contract Assigners. Apples and oranges. Secondly, there are millions of Craiglist posts, all competing for motivated sellers and buyers. Your offers will not likely get lumped in with these buyer beware ads. And when you talk to the seller on the phone (yes, you scaredy cats, you should be talking in person with sellers and buyers!), they will know of your sincerity and legitimacy. Don’t worry about peripheral distractions. Do what you do. Do it well. Stay focused.
February 11, 2009 at 9:39 pm #28538I wouldn’t worry about that ad, how long do you think it will last before things settle down? Who cares who owns the property as long as everything is legal. How many property management companies manage someone elses property? I don’t think there is one apartment complex that has an owner thats actively taking applications.
